Chelsea won the match 2-0, thanks to goals from Estevao Willian and Joao Pedro.
In a conversation with the club's website, Gittens shared his thoughts on the team's performance.
"Everyone is happy to be back on the pitch, and we've been working hard together on the training ground," he said.
"It's been enjoyable so far, and we've been laughing and joking together. But most importantly, we've been putting in the effort to improve."
Gittens also mentioned that he's feeling settled in quickly, thanks to the team's friendly and approachable atmosphere.
"I've talked to everyone, and they're all great people with similar interests outside of football," he said.
Gittens' main goal is to help Chelsea win games and compete for top titles.
"Individually, I want to keep improving as a player, learn from my teammates, and do my best for the team," he added.
