Hazard played for Real Madrid for three years before retiring at the age of 33. He chose not to return to Ligue 1, even though PSG was interested in signing him. When asked about his first impression of Lille's training centre, Domaine de Luchin, Hazard said it was a modern and impressive facility. He was 14 years old at the time and was impressed by the new pitches and the club's reputation as a top Ligue 1 team.
