However, before making an official bid, Chelsea wants to sell more players from their squad.
One of those players is Christopher Nkunku, a 27-year-old Frenchman who currently plays for RB Leipzig.
RB Leipzig is reportedly interested in re-signing Nkunku and has valued Simons at £60 million, while Chelsea is hoping to negotiate the fee down to £50 million.
Additionally, Chelsea and RB Leipzig have also discussed the possibility of Tyrique George, a young winger, joining the German club in pursuit of more playing time.
