The midfielder made a successful return after a recent absence and played a key role in the team's victory.
In an interview after the game, Lavia expressed his joy at being back in the lineup and contributing to the team's success.
"I had a great time playing with my teammates and helping us get a big win," he said.
"Everton stepped up their game in the second half, but that's just the way football goes."
Lavia also praised teammate Nicolas Jackson, who scored the winning goal from outside the penalty area.
"I've seen Jackson do that in training many times before, so it wasn't a surprise to me," Lavia said with a smile.
"I'm really happy for him - it's great to see him succeed."
